What are distal triceps tendinitis and tears?

The distal triceps tendon is located in the back of the elbow. It is the tough, flexible tissue that attaches the triceps muscle to the elbow bone and helps the triceps muscle straighten the arm. Repeated stress on the tendon can cause inflammation and tearing in the tissue.
