Background and Education
Dr. Yoon obtained his medical degree in his home state of Alabama at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in New York City at the NYU Medical Center and Hospital for Joint Diseases where he was faculty selected as Administrative Chief Resident.
He then completed fellowship training and board certification in Pain Medicine at the University of California Los Angeles Medical Center specializing in multidisciplinary treatment approaches for acute and chronic pain.
He then joined and became an original partner of the renown Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic utilizing his unique blend of training and skills in physiatry, pain medicine, sports medicine and non-surgical orthobiologic treatments in professional sports during its early stages of adoption.
Dr. Yoon eventually joined the staff of the Los Angeles Dodgers and became a consultant to many teams and organizations locally and across the country including the Los Angeles Lakers, Kings, Angels, Sparks, and Anaheim Ducks. Now he is the Head Team Physician to the LA Clippers NBA basketball team and Team Physician to the Los Angeles Angels MLB baseball team.
With an international clientele, including many professional athletes competing internationally, Dr. Yoon also continues to collaborate with medical providers in other countries and provide treatment and second opinion consultations.
Honors & Memberships
Dr. Yoon is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Spine Intervention Society. He is a member of the National Basketball Association (NBA) Physician Association and Major League Baseball (MLB) Physician Association. He is annually listed as a Super Doctor in Los Angeles for his accomplishments in Sports Medicine.
